At the age of 8 my parents bought me a Kodak Instamatic which kickstarted my passion for photography and from the early 80s I progressed to a 35mm Film camera studying photography at high school and was often capturing occasions and parties.

In 2008 I got to shoot my first official gig from the pit with a media pass. Since then I've shot well over100 gigs at various festivals including The Big day out, Womadelaide, Laneway, Parklife, Groovin the moo and at venues including Adelaide entertainment centre, Thebarton theatre, Festival centre, The Gov and Hindley music hall right down to small Pub gigs. In 2013 I completed a Diploma in Screen and Media.

The thrill of being at the front of a stage as the lights dim and the band comes on and then the challenge of capturing the essence of the performance, which at times can be under challenging lighting and stage setups is something I've had many years of experience with.

The taking of images is just the start of the process with the selection and editing of photos just as important in order to bring out the best of the performance and capturing the event at a moment of time.
